Our Story

Marcus and Erma's love story is truly one for the books. They met through a mutual friend and quickly fell in love.

Their relationship was built on honesty, laughter, and a deep connection that only grew stronger with time. After many long conversations on the phone, they decided to have their first date at church.
They met in the parking lot and attended the 9:00 am Worship Encounter together. Following the encounter, they enjoyed a delicious brunch and Erma introduced Marcus to the world of cigar smoking. Marcus had never smoked a cigar before, but with Erma's guidance, he quickly became a fan. They spent many evenings smoking cigars and enjoying each other's company.
After Marcus and Erma's relationship had grown stronger, they decided it was time to introduce each other to their families. They wanted to make sure that everyone important in their lives was on board with their relationship.
When Erma introduced Marcus to her family, they were immediately taken with him. His kind heart and good manners won them over, and they could see how much he loved Erma. Marcus, on the other hand, was thrilled to be welcomed into Erma's family with open arms. Similarly, when Marcus introduced Erma to his family, she felt right at home. They were warm and welcoming, and it was evident that they loved Marcus deeply. Erma knew that she had found not only a great partner in Marcus, but also a wonderful family.

Meeting each other's families was a huge step for Marcus and Erma's relationship. It solidified their commitment to each other and showed that they were serious about building a life together.

From that point on, they knew that they had the support they needed to take their relationship to the next level.

One day, Marcus surprised Erma with a romantic proposal before a Winston-Salem State home football game. (GO RAMS!)

Overjoyed, she said YES, and they began planning their dream wedding together.
